Behind the cells

Six years ago, Mauna Kea Technologies’ founders envisioned creating a unique in situ-in vivo fluorescence microscopic imaging tool that would later revolutionize the fields of biomedical and medical imaging. Mauna Kea Technologies’ Cellvizio family of endo-microscopes rely on our unique approach for the in vivo and in situ exploration of the living organism by, very simply stated, putting a microscope objective at the end of an ultra-thin, three meter long fiber. Some 90 percent of cancers are preceded by a curable, pre-cancerous/non-invasive stage that progresses without symptoms over a period of years before reaching a cancerous/invasive stage. Our products help researchers explore the living organism in ways that may offer clinicians new lifesaving treatment option in the future. Our solutions enable researchers and clinicians to bridge the gap between existing in situ macroscopic (MRI, CT, PET, cytometrics, bioluminescence, fluorescence tomography, high-resolution ultrasound, SPECT) and in vivo microscopic techniques. From Leeuwenhook to molecular imaging, man has sought to understand his body and the origins of life.
