WMIC Meeting 2013 Savannah
The World Molecular Imaging Congress is organized by the joint efforts of the “World Molecular Imaging Society – WMIS“, the “European Society for Molecular Imaging – ESMI” and the “Federation of Asian Societies for Molecular Imaging – FASMI“. The WMIC is led by the senior academic and industry professionals who have widely recognized expertise in molecular imaging. The scientific sessions held at the conference cover a broad spectrum of basic and translational sciences (pre-clinical to clinical) forming a Discovery-to-Delivery (D2D) process that helps facilitate academic and industrial partnerships. Through innovation, our goal is to optimize the D2D efforts leading to new medical and molecular imaging discoveries, greater linkages between research and market outcomes, and significant improvements in healthcare. Live from University of Chicago! Endoscopic Advances for Clinical Practice
The field of endoscopy has burgeoned from the ability to simply look at the lining of the GI tract with the scope to the current advanced technology which not only allows interventional gastroenterologists to obtain detailed images but also use the scope as a tool for treatment. Visualization has gone beyond looking at the surface and delved deeper to obtain ultrasound and microscopic images. Diagnostic capabilities have improved to allow for tissue acquisition in challenging anatomy with ERCP, cholangiopancreatoscopy, EUS, and double balloon endoscopy. Surgeons and oncologists increasingly rely on interventional gastroenterologists for appropriate diagnosis, staging and often management of GI neoplasms. Endoscopy has emerged as a less invasive alternative to surgery in the areas of endoscopic mucosal resection, tissue ablation, pancreatic pseudocyst drainage, and now even achalasia therapy. All of these new frontiers of endoscopy are rapidly evolving. This course will outline where standard practices in endoscopy are currently and how new innovations may enhance or revolutionize endoscopic practice in the future.12/04/2013

Cellvizio featured in 9news.com : World's smallest microscope finds cancer faster
St. Anthony Hospital is the first hospital in Colorado to use the new advanced-imaging technology, called Cellvizio, with at-risk patients during standard endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures as well as the pancreatic and bile duct cancer detection procedure. Cellvizio allows physicians to view internal tissues cell-by-cell to pinpoint cancerous and pre-cancerous tissue more efficiently than current procedures. Dr. Matt Reveille says the new technology helps doctors respond once they identify dangerous tissue.more
