The fifth edition of the International Conference of Cellvizio Users took place in Versailles, France, from April 5-7, 2013.
|
The 2013 edition has welcomed 199 participants and has seen a radical change compared to the previous ones. For the first time, the conference has explored both medicine and pre-clinical research, through a truly multi-specialty and translational scientific program, including GI, pulmonology, urology, surgery, ENT, gynecology, pathology, and molecular imaging. This new conference was a real shift for three main reasons. First, the standardization of Optical Biopsy usage in advanced indications in gastroenterology through upcoming consensus statements is pushing the integration of this technology into routine clinical practice. Second, the development of new indications in new extended specialties is now a reality, and opens the door to many fields of application. Third, the interaction between researchers and physicians will foster fruitful collaborations, new ideas and developments. All of this was possible thanks to the incredible work and results of the Cellvizio users. |

The fourth edition of the International Conference of Cellvizio Users (ICCU) was held in Rome, Italy, from April 13-15, 2012.
| The core scientific program was extended to new indications, featuring recent and future advances of pCLE in gastroenterology, urology, pulmonology and surgery. In off-site working groups around the Eternal City, participants explored key pCLE applications. And for the first time, a one-day CME-accredited workshop allowed new users to acquire training on image interpretation and to become more familiar with pCLE handling through live procedures. | ||

ICCU 2011 took place in Nice, France, on April 8-11,
| Despite the flow of new technology, many clinical questions still need attention and best practice shared. This scientific symposium aims to offer insight into the current questions we have regarding improving disease detection, treatment and how pCLE contributes to patient management. Distinguished speakers are drawn from a variety of specialties including digestive and pulmonary endoscopy, urology, pathology and image processing. In 2011, additional time was allotted to pulmonology, a new field of application for pCLE. Poster sessions, which will allow each one of our users to present their latest findings with pCLE, were also included. | ||

Highlights of the Second International Conference of Cellvizio Users in Paris, France, March 20-22, 2010
| The 2nd Annual International Conference of Cellvizio Users (ICCU) included 30 presentations on the role and impact of cellular-level in vivo imaging with the Cellvizio probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) system in diagnosing and treating numerous gastrointestinal (GI) diseases. Dr. David L. Carr-Locke, Chief of the Division of Digestive Diseases and Director of the Endoscopy Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and Prof. Guido Costamagna, Director, of the Digestive Endoscopy Unit at the Agostino Gemelli University Polyclinic and Professor of Surgery at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome co-chaired the meeting, which was attended by 80 gastroenterologists and specialists from 10 countries around the world. | ||

First ICCU Meeting to advance probe-based Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy (pCLE) practice
| More than forty top GI endoscopists from around the world gathered in Miami in February for the first International Conference of Cellvizio Users (ICCU). Co-chaired by Paul Fockens, M.D. from the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, and Michael Wallace, M.D., from Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, the conference achieved its goals, among which, to advance agreement on the interpretation of Cellvizio images. The conference provided a forum for discussions about current and future applications of probe-based Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy (pCLE) including Barrett's Esophagus, bile and pancreatic duct diseases, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), colonic polyps and inflammatory bowel diseases. A key takeaway from the Conference was the potential of Cellvizio's impact on biopsy targeting and its potential to eventually improve upon some historic histologic practices to diagnose certain gastrointestinal diseases. | ||
