Our technologies

Eight years ago, Mauna Kea Technologies’ founders envisioned creating a unique in situ-in vivo fluorescence microscopic imaging tool that would later revolutionize the fields of biomedical and medical imaging. Since then, medical imaging giants have been quick to jump on the molecular imaging bandwagon, but none with the technologies comparable to those we had already patented.

What was originally a research tool for biologists has today become a clinical solution. As further biology research continues, new clinical uses for Mauna Kea’s technology are just around the corner.

In small animal imaging alone, the scope of use is enormous. Research in this domain with Mauna Kea Technologies' products will not only yield new therapeutic solutions (medication), but will also play a primordial role in the further understanding and treatment of a vast array of cellular pathologies including cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s among others.

Using cancer diagnosis as an example… one of the most common procedures, the biopsy, is not only the key to 90% of diagnoses but also a non-negligible source or errors. Mauna Kea Technologies’ endo-microscopy technology will provide clinicians with the tools they need to perform “optical biopsies” which are more reliable, les invasive, faster, and less expensive than current procedures.
